Meet the Team

Gary is a Chartered Accountant, MAT Chief Finance Officer, and executive mentor with experience spanning external audit, commercial finance, the NHS, and education. At Learners' Trust he has worked to strengthen financial stability, improve systems, and build more consistent approaches to budgeting and procurement. He founded MATFMA because he couldn't find the peer network he needed when he joined the sector and believed others were navigating the same isolation. Gary facilitates the Executive Strategy Rooms and leads the community's strategic direction.

Ryan is a senior operational, organisational development and people leader with more than 20 years’ experience across Higher Education, Further Education, the Civil Service and hospitality. As a PRINCE2 Practitioner and CIPD-qualified People Practitioner, he has a strong track record of leading transformation, enhancing organisational effectiveness and developing high-performing communities of practice. Ryan brings a strategic and disciplined approach to ensuring that networks are not only well designed but deliver measurable value for their members. He co-facilitates MATFMA sessions and oversees the network’s operational delivery, ensuring excellence in execution and a consistently strong member experience.
